Microsoft Designates Dee Templeton as Non-Voting Observer on OpenAI Board

Microsoft has appointed Dee Templeton, Vice President for tech and research partnerships and operations, as the non-voting observer on OpenAI’s board, according to reports by Bloomberg. Templeton, also an advisor to Microsoft CTO and EVP of AI, Kevin Scott, has already commenced attending board meetings.

The Information had previously hinted at Templeton being under consideration for this role. In her current capacity, Templeton oversees operations for Microsoft’s Technology and Research group, which consists of nearly 1,500 scientists and engineers.

Notably, Templeton plays a pivotal role in fostering critical technical partnerships at Microsoft, including leading the cross-functional team responsible for advancing collaborative efforts with OpenAI, as detailed in her LinkedIn profile.
